Default Just throwing something out there

Would it be any easier using a moment dump to help compile some sprint specific stuff since the moment runs a vanilla android to get things ready for a 2.0 upgrade?

Are you referring to a 2.0 upgrade of Moment or Hero?

Both phones are running 1.5 so I am not sure what we would be able to get from the Moment.

As kcarpenter said, we aren't trying to take a 1.5 rom and make it 2.x. We have a GSM 2.x rom that we're trying to make work on a CDMA phone with a kernel that doesn't exist for us.
Xylon - Nexus 4: 2.1.1b2 (Android 4.2.2)
Fresh Evo LTE: 5.3.1 (Android 4.0.4) || Fresh Evo 3d: 4.2.0 (Android 2.3.4) || Fresh Evo: 4.3.3
Fresh Shift: 4.1.1 (Android 2.3.3) || Fresh Hero: 2.4.0 (Android 2.1)

Good thought, never hold back on ideas. The more ideas and thoughts that are put out here on these forums gives people like flipz more opportunities to create bigger better things. Who knows, you may say something that puts everyone on the right track to fixing this 2.1 data issue.

@flipz - I always thought kernels just magically appeared. No luck with this one? Maybe we should find a corn farmer...wow that was a bad pun.

Are you 100% sure this is a kernel issue? I was just doing some research on the RIL and it seem that would certainly hold the keys to enable data and such. I've been looking up from my phone so my knowledge is limited since I haven't been home since tues.

So if we can write a Sprint specific RIL then we'd be looking pretty good. Or is the issue that the RIL is compiled into the kernel itself.

I think I recall reading that the RIL is in the kernel. I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.

Darn manufacturers keep messing us over. Moment with the jacked up file system so Root stuff won't work but they release source (minus RFS stuff required to get the real goodies working). HERO with no kernel but it seems like everything else is inline.
