un root phone?

I followed the instructions in a thread and my phone rooted but I didn't finish the push recovery steps (step 13) because I kept getting permission denied. Now I don't know how I'm going to get my phone unrooted since I didn't get passed that step. Can I factory reset to go back to normal? I'm thinking of returning the phone to sprint and just get another one since I'm under the 30 days still.

Just get the Stock RUU and run it and it will Bring it back to stock like when you got it

so where do I get that...is it somewhere on sprints site?

I assume you need the cdma one. It's at the bottom

and got to step 10 where it says it boots into recovery mode. unfortunately, it just freezes the phone at the initial HTC logo indefinitely (i gave it at least 45 minutes).
so i kind of want to start all over and unroot and begin again, but i'm hoping it doesn't completely wipe all my settings/apps etc...

edit, just ran the update utility and now see the bright red caution saying it will delete all info and data...
anyway to undo steps 1-9 from that instructions without running this utility?
