Maybe you could make use of the compass and multitouch on the HTC HD2?
The APIs can be found in the forum.

Well, I don't have a HD2, but if you find me the APIs I could try to implement them.

I installed the update, It runs now.

But, I must be missing something because I cannot get this menu to come up.

Im assuming you tap and hold but that isn't working for me.

Right, tap and hold - it's a context-menu.
maybe you are still scrolling the map while holding. try holding longer...

I wrote an application similar to GoogleMaps but it's relying on OpenStreetMap.
It's finger friendly and showing the map on fullscreen.

GPS support and GSM triangulation (if no GPS device is present) is built in.

The downloaded map tiles are stored on your phone/storage and only new ones are downloaded.

It's tested and working on HTC Diamond (VGA) with internal GPS and on HTC Wizard (QVGA) with external GPS. And it should work on all other devices with .NET CF 3.5 as well.

Tell me what you think of it and please find some bugs!

UPDATE: osm.CAB upated to version 1.0.3632.5042

Code:
Changes in 1.0.3632.5042:
- DoubleToString-parsing fixed for different cultures
- Storage Card selection page was not optimized for other resolutions than QVGA
   now works with all resolutions!
- other small bugfixes

A very nice software! Keep it up! is it poosible to see Google map?

Great idea! Thanks! but getting error after it begins to load map:
Quote:

Can't find PInvoke DLL 'ril.dll'

osmconfig.xml reads:
Code:
<config>
<storage>\</storage>
<version>1.0.3632.5042</version>
</config>
I'm using an older hx4700-WM6.1 (wifi/pda only, not phone)
Installed program to main memory. Maps began to load at first and then error. Maps can be seen in cache. Tried storage on card with same error.

Thanks for the feedback. this error is caused by the GSM triangulation. since your pda is not a phone, it does not have the dll that delivers Cell Tower Information.
I will consider that for the next update.

Well, I am still at the beginning of my project. So far I finished the base viewing of the map. But the features I'm about to implement will go way beyond NaviComputer.
