As posted above by c0rnholio above, you can try to change the device type in ROM. I did this once on my x1 and it worked fine for me. The process is similar to what is listed at http://www.silentservices.de/HexEdit-ROM-for-BBC.... you need to change HTC KOVSKY to HTC RAPHAEL in the rom file, then flash that ROM. Make sure you have Hard-SPL installed before flashing, to ensure you won't fry your device.
