Default How to treat new battery?

This is going to be my first new phone in a while and I was wondering what I should do about the battery when i get it.

Should I just let it fully discharge until it shuts off on its own or should I just start charging it as soon as i get it?

nope, l-ion batteries dont have a memory effect so no need. just charge it up to 100% (or dont doesnt matter) and you're good to go.

It's true that it doesn't matter for the battery but they recommend so that your phone reads it correctly to let it die completely and charge it from there so that the phone gets a reading of when it's completely discharged and completely full. There's a lot of debate on this subject, but it's never done me wrong.

incorrect. it is bad to let a lithium ion battery die completely.

It's bad to leave it discharged, but letting it go down till your phone turns off won't even fully discharge it, it protects itself from fully discharging, if you let your phone die and then keep turning your phone on till it won't anymore, yeah that's bad for it.
