Samsung Moment, I know its not HTC, looking for advice

So I've had a Sprint Hero since it came out and love whats being done on it. I recently purchased a Samsung Moment, and there is some progress happening, but i'm not sure in which direction. We have root, and recovery mode that can apparently update via .zip from sd. I'm wondering why recovery mode is not being used at all for our updates? This is how we do it on the hero and its much more convenient. We have to use odin for the moment and am curious why. As far as I can tell there are only a small handful of people working on the device and are doing great but idk, it just seems different having to actually go back to flashing devices. Are there other android devices that need flashing when rooted? I really don't know what I'm asking here. Maybe just looking for a handout of some genius from xda? lol

look mate....there will be nonhtc forums over here in a short while,so i suggest you to go to "new forums on xda" thread in the about section and request moment to be added....or contact "svetius" via pm ..he leads the project

so when you get the forum,it will be a piece of cake to gather some people who could work on the moment...so i think that would be your best shot
