Stylus for the HD2

I recently purchased for the princely sum of £5 a stylus - aimed at the iPhone made by Exspect..

Now they are a few styli out there that just don't work but this one is weird..

The end is like rubber and all spongy and it works just fine when you press (though I wish the end was more pointed) but it won't scroll via the rubber end cap but, and this is weird, to get it to scroll from left to right, you place the stylus on the screen vertically (holding the clip) and move it from left to right and hey-presto it scrolls a screen at a time and if you turn it around it scrolls from top to bottom.. all this and it is not physically touching or scratching the screen..

So how have they done that as there are no magnets (that I can see) in the stylus, no user or moveable parts.. but it works.. strange but I am curious as to if the official HTC stylus that is currently being advertised at £17 is the same or any better..
