It worked for me on 4 different rom-releases on the german dev-page...did you installed it with .cab or cooked into rom?
Wenn I installed it for the first time by .cab, it doesn't work, but every time i cooked it into my rom's, it's working perfectly.

Just as an FYI to anyone who cares, I've finally got my sms and mms working with 2012.
I have JD_ Arcsoft_MMS_WM65_5_2_0_22 in my 05_Apps folder ahead of my messaging client HTCSense_amarullzNoMessagingClient_2.0.0-BETA3 which I have in 14_Messaging at the very end of my EXTs so as to exclude any interference after the fact. I've not included an HTC Messaging Client.

So if anyone's still having trouble, this worked for me!

Where do the files

482d118b_manila
483f2a0c_manila
0509ab83_manila

come into play? Are they all landscape images?

Also, I think the point is more so that one can easily change wallpaper on the fly instead of cooking it in. Although I guess one could make cabs of your modified BG files.

Hey, that's great! I knew I could mod the BG File, but quite honestly I hadn't thought about cabbing up a few pics as manila files and rolling w/that. I've already cabbed some up and that suits me just fine till an official fix comes out. Thanks!

Actually with that cab I made of only the 4bfcbbee_manila file, landscape is perfect, but portrait has small black lines on top and bottom. I've edited all 4 files mentioned and can't get rid of the lines in portrait.
