Download the Parted Magic ISO and boot from that CD to allow you to create partitions on your SD card.

INFORMATION
——————————————————————————————————————

¬ Firmware-Version * 2.1
¬ System-Date * 23 Feb 2010
¬ Kernel-Version * 2.6.27-00907-g5f72ca0
¬ Kernel-Date * 23 Feb 2010 00:09

INSTRUCTIONS
——————————————————————————————————————

¬ Step 1 * Prepare your SD card (create partitions)
1.1 * Download Parted Magic (choose your preferred method): - http://partedmagic.com/download.html
1.2 * Boot from the CD/DVD/USB you put Parted Magic on and select "1. Default settings"
1.3 * Open "Partition Editor", select your SD card and create 4 partitions:
- First delete all existing partitions, then create:
- Partition 1: Type: FAT32 / Size: unallocated space - 768 (i.e. 8GB SD -> 6820 MB; for Android installer files and others)
- Partition 2: Type: EXT2 / Size: 256 MB / Label: system
- Partition 3: Type: EXT2 / Size: 256 MB / Label: data
- Partition 4: Type: linux-swap / Size: 256 MB
1.4 * Extract all files from the archive into the root directory of the FAT32 partition on your SD card
- Optional: If you want to create your own "ts-calibration" file simply delete the existing one and carry out step 3.8

¬ Step 2 * Prepare your device (VERY IMPORTANT!)
2.1 * Disable PIN (not supported by Android yet)
2.2 * Disable auto-brightness for the screen (set to 100%) and uncheck all checkboxes (i.e. "turn off if ...")
2.3 * Disable everything in Comm-Manager EXCEPT for "PHONE", 3G switch is up to you
2.4 * Disable Touch Flo 3D

¬ Step 3 * Install Android (READ ALL STEPS BEFORE STARTING!)
3.1 * With File Explorer navigate to SD root where all Android files are located
3.2 * Run "haret.exe" ... device should now vibrate 2 times - If you get "Waiting for SD card" error you need to use another SD card
3.3 * About 7 seconds later quickly press Volume Down when prompted "Press VolDn to launch the installer"
3.4 * About 2 seconds later quickly press Volume Down again when prompted "Press VolDn to upgrade, END to continue"
3.5 * Press Volume Down again when prompted "Press VolDn to wipe data"
3.6 * When prompted to backup data just press END
3.7 * Installation should not take more than a few minutes until it says "Press any key to boot"
3.8 * Optional: If you want to create your own "ts-calibration" file as soon as requested quickly press the 5 spots on your screen as precisely as you can

¬ Step 4 * Fix some things (VERY IMPORTANT!)
4.1 * Fix Deep Sleep Issue (device not waking up sometimes):
- Install (from Market) and launch "SetCPU"
- At first start select "HTC Hero/Tattoo Beta [MSM7k Turbo]" (this button from the bottom of the list)
- Set frequencies to the following: Max: 528 MHz / Min: 245 MHz
- Check "Set on Boot" and set "CPU Governor" to "on demand"
4.2 * Properly setup swap usage
- Go to the mainmenu > "Spare Parts"
> "Compcache/Swap Settings": "Compcache and Swap"
> "Compcache Size": "32 MB"

¬ Step 5 * You are now ready to use Android! Things you might need to know:
5.1 * If a process is not responding, just click "wait" (this is a fairly common thing that might be related to the slowness of the SD card)

¬ Step 6 * Visit all below listed links regularly for the newest updates
