Default Upgrading from Hero

Hello
I'm thinking about upgrading to the Desire or Nexus, from my Hero.
One of the reasons is, that some of the 3. party apps I have installed isn't running at full speed and using the touch pad slows them further down. So will I notice some major speed improvements with a snapdragon device in single apps, or is it more overall performance and multitasking improvements. I think if the apps isn't made to use better hardware.

i would recommend u play safe and go for the nexus one as it has already been rooted and custom roms, speed tweaks etc will all be easily available. the newer android phones released by htc seem really hard to hack.

It shouldn't take long to root it and so we can see what people come up with

well i think that the desire would be a better choice for him as it comes with the sense ui he is used to. yes there is a rom for nexus too but it's not stable yet so desire....and if he doesn't want the sense, i am positive that desire will be rooted too and you will have the option to install the stock android rom 2.1!
