Another stupid rumor, in case you hadn't had enough

A guy on the Verizon Android forum claims he spoke to HTC today and was told the Eris release was just days away, could be had via OTA or download from their website, and was gonna be...........2.0.

Man, will I ever be glad when the speculation is over.

Not true. According to "friends" in HTC, 2.1 is going to be released. 2.0 code was DROID specific in some ways (seeing as its not running well on ANY other phone). The motoDROID was kind of a test pilot for 2.x

LOL! Trust me...you don't have to convince me. I'm just constantly amused that anybody would believe something like that coming from one drone on the phone at a huge corporation. I already told him to believe it when it happens. Remember...the internet is a valuable source of bull****.

Ok, well color me shocked, embarrased, and dismayed. I just got off the phone with HTC and the young lady on the other end of the phone ASSURED ME that the Android 2.0 release for the Eris would be out before the end of this month! She did say that the phone would ultimately be upgraded to 2.1, but not before getting 2.0, and she could not give a time frame when the upgrade to 2.1 would happen.

Oh, the humanity!

Seems like every day there is some new rumor out there about what is happening with the "official update" for the Eris. I wouldn't put too much stock in what a "verizon sales rep" or an "HTC customer service rep" says. Until something official comes out it's all here say.

Ironically, that is almost EXACTLY what I said to the guy on the Verizon forum who posted this info. But I tell you, the girl I spoke to at HTC seemed pretty darn sure of what she was telling me. She insisted it was a concrete fact. There's only three weeks left in the month...pretty soon it will all be over but the shouting.

You guys just dont understand how frustrating this is for me.. one day we almost have 1.5 root.. then 2.1 is supposeed to come out.. then 2.1 is leaked.. then everything else haha
