Reaching, but thought it was worth a shot... Device User Agent Strings
Hey all,
Not sure if there is any way to mess with these settings, but I wanted to know if there was a way to change a devices UA String via command or app.
I do some mobile phone testing and I can emulate through FireFox, however, wanted to know if there was a way to emulate via the handset itself.
Example:
The UA String for the Nexus one (that we see (from stock)) is:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; Nexus One Build/ERE27) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17
And the UA String for the G1 is:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android HTC_Dream-1.13.0.1; en-us; dream) AppleWebKit/525.10+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0.4 Mobile Safari/523.12.2
Now, each device has as different experience on our system and I wanted to emulate that on the Nexus.
Any input would be great!
Thanks!
Talderon
