File System Repair

I don't have A2SD, so I need to repair the inbuilt filing system. Can anyone tell me the command to do this? I tried e2fsck /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 but I get file not found. And something about super block not being there. I don;t even think that's the command I need! Any help would be appreciated, my phone is totally unusable at the moment.
