Hi at all,
saw that nice BIOS boot screen on a friends Hero and made something similar for our Nexus One (should be working on other WVGA devices as well):

Just flash via recovery.

In case you want to get rid of it and restore the original animation:
Code:
adb shell rm /data/local/bootanimation.zip
Tell me what you think

Changes:
2010/03/13
- added signed update.zip for flashing from recovery mode
- added a second, shorter version for ROMs with faster boot times (nexus-bios-boot-fixed)

2010/03/14
- two new versions online:
  • nexus-bios-boot runs at 15fps -> 6 seconds of animation
  • nexus-bios-boot-fast runs at 20fps -> 4,5 seconds of animation

2010/03/22
- two new versions online(again :P):
  • n1bios-signed at 15fps, reading 1113MHz, ASCII-Droid looping by ChainsDD
  • n1bios-signed at 25fps, reading 1113MHz, ASCII-Droid looping by ChainsDD
- 'classic' versions updated to loop the Ascii-Droid

No, it's just that preview which is looping - the boot screen doesn't.

Glad you like it, I tried to keep as much of the original pixelated look

I think this looks great. I'm gonna give it a try. Thanks!

EDIT: Just as I expected, booting on the nexus is pretty quick, so it doesnt finish Its still good though.
