[Help!] Bad SMS encoding

hello all! i am from china.

i am please to use android in the Vogue, it works very good but except one thing: can't send and rcv SMS with chinese(sms with en is ok), it shows content as: BAD SMS ENCODING.

pls kindly help to resolve this problem!

What rom, and I think that it's probable that the rom doesn't have the right localization for chinese.

both myn and eclair rom have the same problem.

Plemen's Donut Evolution works in Chinese encoding.

It has nothing to do with the build that you're running. I'm not sure why someone would think it would.
This needs to be updated in the ril for your provider. You'll need to first supply radio logs from windows mobile of sending/receiving and txt. Than in android the same.

Chinese SMS use PDU 8-bit UCS-2
English SMS use text 7-bit ascii
maybe rebuild mms.apk

another question is:
in china(maybe in india also), we use UIM as userID.how can we use cave for EVDO AAA。

i can receive and send Korean txts on Windows Mobile 6.1, but failed on Android and Windows Mobile 6.5. When I receive Korean txts, it says bad sms encoding. I tried to send Korean txt to my phone, and got weird letters. Same thing happens on WinMo 6.5........ OHH, im a Verizon user.
