Default [COMP]desire or x10?

ok, iv'e got some decidingto do

though my work, I can get an x10 for half the price, special deal we got now.

originally im waiting for desire, but these are the factors:

x10 pros:
half price
aviliable two weeks before desire
bigger screen
better camera

x10 cons
Sony Ericsson have less experience with developing phones with android
android 1.6 (for now anyway)

desire pros
made by htc, better experience developing android phones
android 2.1
a bit sexier

desire cons
have to pay full price
have to wait a bit longer for it

i kinda feel that i want desire, what would you guys do, and why?

I feel the X10 is sexier but TOO big
Waiting more for Desire? Not really
It will be out next week in some countries and by 6 April in all countries, X10 will come out in that same period too
The desire will be way cheaper than X10
x10 = 550 Euros
Desire = 420 Euros

if you are ok with paying the full price (money wise) I suggest that you get the desire, HTC have more experience in making android devices .. and the HTC Sense interface is as efficient as it is pretty

but you know, i dont believe someone here in the "Desire section" will recommend you to get the X10 anyways :P so i suggest you go read reviews (or hands-on) about both as much as you can and then decide what to get

X10:
-More expensive
-Too big for pocket (Desire is just ok thanks to 11.9mm)
-Screen actually limited to 65k because of OS 1.6
-OS 2.1 will be available ''somewhere'' between June and October
-Much less ROM devs
-Price depreciation is pretty fast

+ SE build quality (I am a 10y old SE fanboy)
+ Multimedia (better camera and sound)

The only thing that I wouldn't like with Desire is the camera that could have been 8mp, but for all the rest it's a winner

I wouldn't get a SonyEricsson smartphone ever again. Essentially they buy some of the features from HTC and then try to create their own "features" on top of it. Problem ist: SE features really suck, because they have *much* less experience.

I'd get a Desire, if you can afford it.
Device: Sony Ericsson Xperia X1i (GER Keyboard)
ROM: Valkyrie Firestorm LEO v5.4.23517 (WM6.5/disabled Manila2.5 because of SoDs)

Choose Desire, AMOLED screen (type of OLED screen).
It is much efficient, especially if you use quite a lot of black colors as your theme:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_LED
Quote:
Power consumption

While an OLED will consume around 40% of the power of an LCD displaying an image which is primarily black, for the majority of images, it will consume 60–80% of the power of an LCD - however it can use over three times as much power to display an image with a white background[53] such as a document or website. This can lead to disappointing real-world battery life in mobile devices.
Probably I will just change the background to simply black and see if it has some effects on battery life

The .3" diff in screen size is not much. Think about it, take a ruler and measure it

And dont forget, the HTC Desire RAM is 576MB compared to x10 384MB, that's a big deal for performance during multitask (you will do this for sure).

8 MP camera does not do justice compare to 5MP, the sensor is too tiny anyway. In fact, the 5MP will produce cleaner image (less noise).

Also, HTC Desire has "optical trackpad", but I am not sure how effective is this ... Anyone know if this can substitute a D-Pad? For example during browsing

And x10 is ugly ... my taste

Found x10 unboxing and hands-on:
http://www.droiddog.com/android-blog...-and-hands-on/

Again, after watched it, I will take HTC Desire anyday!
Galaxy Nexus (Official yakju build): Android 4.1.2 "yakju" stock ROM, stock recovery, rooted ... fastboot unlocked

From the Brilliant Mind that Gave us "Death To PegHelp.exe" now comes the Thread Title Addition... Drumrol....

[COMP]

[COMP] is only to be used in Device to Device Comparisons in General Chats.
In this Pre Existing Desire Period.
So [COMP] for Roms vs Roms is still a nono in XDA-Land.
Any [COMP] done in a fashionable manor without Childish Mud throwing won't be trashed or closed.

XDA-developers in General does not encourage to start [COMP] Threads.
