12 key keyboard

Hi all,

I have been trying and trying to figure out how to get the simple, original (or any) 12 key keyboard enabled and I finally give: I'll have to ask for help. Does anybody know how to do this? Registry key hack? cab file? Anything but a new ROM...it took forever to get this one set up so it's decent enough.*%$

Attached is a screenshot of keyboards I currently have installed as well as system info. Perhaps this will help. Other info is:
Windows Mobile 6.5 vWhoKnows (see footnote)

* However, now that I try to look at my phone settings, it all looks like a scrambled mess...so I think I'm going to have to install a ROM anyway. Damn this phone is a never-ending project ARG.
