Default 3 instead of 4 columns

Is there a tip or trick to have 3 instead of 4 rows of icons?

On the home screen or in the app drawer?

You have to edit the launcher. Maybe a hex edit would be enough, but I'm pretty sure you'll need to edit it from source instead. What is it you want three rows of? The "desktop" or the app drawer?
