Default tetherBlu

Has anyone tried this app for tethering their data connection? It's $6.99 and I don't feel like paying for it if it isn't going to work.

I've not tried TetherBlue yet.
I have tried EasyTether ($9.99) and PDANet (I think $23).
Both are free as long as you don't access HTTPS secured web sites.
Most email services require HTTPS.

If you need access to secured sites, you will most likely need to pay for something.

Good luck!

I'm using Linux so I'm searching for an alternative.

I don't know how much of a hassle it is(I've have yet to buy an app), but you are supposed to be able to get a refund within 24 hours for any app you don't want. Just wanted to make sure you knew.

I have used http://code.google.com/p/proxoid/ on windows 7 and linux.
Its nice and free, but I have only used it as a proxy for firefox to go through, so it only really offers web browsing, but i did not get charged for any tethering.
