Default Replacing SD card

I've been reading the user guide in anticipation of getting the phone. I see some software is already on the SD card, Particularly it mentions HTC Sync.

I'm going to want to use my own 16gb card so can I just do a copy and paste of anything on the supplied card to my own using Windows or do I have to do anything different bearing in mind I believe Android is Linux based?

The stuff on the supplied SD card is for your PC ie its HTC Sync Installer for the PC, not for the phone.

You just put the new SD Card in and thats it. It's a Windows friendly file system it uses (90% sure its FAT32).

Thanks for that.

One more question - I've finished going throught the user guide and can't see anything in the settings for formating the card in the phone. I usually prefer to format a card before first use in the device it's to be used in. I assume there is an option somewhere to format the card in the phone?

Yeah Settings > Storage > Format SD Card.

Would be pretty poor if it didn't have such an option :P
