Ooh, black, me want!
Not enough to accept the prices Orange charge, or the way they mangle their phone software though (I know it will be rooted soooner or later)!

IMO the black looks cheap and tacky on the Desire, I saw a vid in youtube, does not look nice at all on the Desire

I kinda like the black one, similar to the choice of a graphite Hero or G2 Touch - I'd choose G2 touch anyday..

Yeah- as has been stated, the original brown should be available after the 2nd April and the black one (exclusive to orange) available towards the end of the month. Not sure I wanna wait that long although I would prefer black.

I totally agree! The first picture I saw i thought -- eeew, it's the "MyTouch" (Magic) black finish ... Me NO like... (to me looks like -- looks like -- the finish would scrape away with fingernail... and now I shall get out of this thread and back where i belong, amidst the brownies... )

Same here - wouldn't mind the black one - but is it good enough for me to wait another month? Am not sure - just desperate to get my mitts on one (through Orange - but my contract ends on April 27th so if they muck me around too much...). Hopefully they'll have it in by next week....

Its not even on the "coming soon" part of their website so I'm wondering what they're playing at.

There's nothing about it on the orange intranet either. I asked internally and was told it was due to the specifications being confidential.

I can only imagine that was due to the exclusive colour option, though it isn't unusual for us to find out company news on the register or other tech sites! Not helpful when I want one and can't find out any info on it apart from what's on tech sites. Sales hadn't been given any more info, they didn't even know it existed. Should be more info released very soon though.
