Default VPN and activesync

alright so got this active issue that i am certain i will figure out.
in order for me to create a partnership with outlook i need to connect via USB. we all know, at this time that is a 'no dice' situation. ok fine.

we have a VPN that i can log into (as long as i register the certificate and all that jazz). this information creates 2 questions.

1. if i log into the VPN, could that eliminate the need to create a partnership via USB?
2. where would i put the certificate if launching through Haret and in the long run, NAND?

thanks in advance

ok so i had some time and did some playing and determined nomatter how i setup the vpn or where i put the certificate, there is no way around the security protocol on our exchange server.

tallked to our IT guy and he says "corporate has scheduled vpn maintenence for this weekend, they are 'suposed' to include OTA certificates.

i will post again when i have a chance to play with the new configs.
