Default Is X10 on Three network locked?

Hi all, couldn't find any info by searching so here goes...

I am looking at changing my N900 for an X10 as there are a few Android apps I can't live without. I really like my N900 but the app support and support from Nokia are really holding it back.

Now, I have seen an X10 for sale at the same price I can get for my N900 but it is on Three so I was wondering if Three network lock their devices as I believe Vodafone don't lock their devices. If they do lock them, is it just a case of going to an unlocking site to get it unlocked or do Three have a proprietary firmware?

Any advice gratefully received.

My phone from Telenor Sweden (former Vodafone) isn't locked at all. And I've got 24 months left on it. But I doubt that'll help you at all since most phones "from" Three is locked.
Current phone: Sony Ericsson X10i 'Sensuous Black'
A few old phones (in order from newest to oldest): SE X1i, SE 770i, SE P1i, SE W800i,SE P900i, SE P800i.

Thanks guys. I think I'll pay a bit more and get a Vodafone one. Should never have got rid of the Magic for the N900. It is a great bit of hardware but most of the apps are crap...
