WIFI SoftAP Connection Issue

I've been using Myns excellent Donut Warm Donut rom and it worked fine with regular ap or Wifi routers. But when I try to connect it to a softap that i created with a tplink TL-WN321G usb adaptor, android gets full signals, connects to it fine, and it gets a correct IP and all. But thats as far as it goes. No data is transmitted and there is no internet connectivity. no ping from either side, and i tried to traceroute through the console and it terminated at the phones own ip. The softap works fine with other laptops and computers, and android works fine with a tplink router. Ive tried this on both donut and eclair, with no luck. Anybody got any idea? Please help! Btw I scoured internet forums for days for this, and I found a guy who had this working with the exact same adaptor, but hes on linux. Im on XP sp3.

What Im trying to do: dsl connection>PC>softap>android phone

I just tried connectify.me in windows 7, with the same exact results, even though I've seen many people say they use it to connect their android to their pcs internet. Any help please... I've checked route etc and the gateways correct too... but thats as far as my expertise go.

for what its worth i got the problem fixed by using the adhoc method. I'm surprised noones facing the same problem. Everyones using 2g/3g? or routers? :|

Brother i am also want to tary it to sahre my ptcl Evo on samsung galaxy s will it work with same wifi USB drive as urs ?
