@bradavon

Thanks for info about 720P playback but without sound which isn't big issue as there is a small work around to fix it.

I've used a latest version of SUPER change the video container to MP4 from MOV and change audio codec to AAC LC didn't touch the video at all by using a direct stream copy for video.

Thanks Hassan. Good tip. These are all just wrappers after all, with largely MPEG4 inside them. I'll do just that. It would be good to get some working 720p Quicktime trailers on my HTC Desire.

I'll have a look at Prince of Persia, thanks.

I have tried this with movies downloaded from itunes but although the file converted shows the movie reel icon when I try to play it says that the movie cannot be played. Were you simply renaming the .m4v to mp4 using astro?

Converted from what? To what? You'll need to rename it to .mp4 yes. Try this:

In ASTRO, choose "Open As --> Video"

Does it play now? I've found this. I have to "Open As" for it to work from Astro.

It works fine using YXFlash though and nicely still opens .mp4 files using the default HTC Video Player (i.e - if HTC Video Player cannot play the file, like DiVX it uses the YXFlash Player and if it can, it uses the HTC Video Player, all from YXFlash).

movies downloaded from itunes are protected, thus they cannot be played anywhere but the machine they are downloaded in and connected devices
