HTC Desire hardware specs, drivers and compatibility inquiry

Hi,

I'd like to ask whether someone can point me to any developer resource that would describe the internals of HTC Desire. By developer resource I'm thinking of a resource such as wiki on xda-developers.com or handhelds.org, which describes all chips used inside the device, provides documentation (PDF) and information about current state of Linux kernel support for chips/functionality.
I suspect that Desire is very similar to Nexus One, if anyone could point me to such resources, it would be greatly appreciated. I would like to know to which extent the Desire (or Nexus One) is open source, i.e. whether and to which extent peripherals are driven by open source drivers.
