Default Setting background image

When i go to getting started > set background > change the background image > it gives me a list of folders including olders on my SD card but the only actual images/avatars i can set as the background image are ones that came with the phone, why is it i cannot see any of my photos and set them as a background image?

I've gone to my album but it only gives an option to upload to either set as contact icon, save screen image, delete, set as footprints, mail, messages or uoload to facebook, why is it i cannot save any of my photos as a background image.

Dunno if this is of any assistance but i flashed the phone laurentius26's Ultimate Rom, all good except a few minor things (cant delete twitter/stocks)
ROM Version 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE

No one got any tips here?

If i want to save one of my photos to as a background image i have to bluetooth an image from my other phone to my HD2 and then i can save it, i can save any of my photos as wallpaper ok but it's the actual background image i want, ive even copied a few photos into my documents/my photos on the phone memory but when i go to getting started and change the background image i cant see the photos, i cant believe this is proving so difficult, please tell me there is a simple way of doin this.
