How to install Application in your HTC touch2

Hello all! Recently i bought my new htc touch2 and i love it! And love this forum! Here some guidelines i found on how to instal application in your phone. I am sure it will help Newbies like me ! It's about htc touch2 pro but i guess the steps are the same. I can't post the url link cause it says i am a new user so i'll just copy-paste the text... hope i am not breaking and forum rules

# Download the file to your PC.

1.If it ends in .zip or .rar:
# extract them (winrar)

2.If the file ends in .exe:
# connect your device to the PC via USB cable to Active Sync;
# Double click the .exe file;
# Installation will begin. Follow onscreen PC instructions.
# Finish installation on your device by selecting where you want to install the file (device/storage) and tap “install”;
# click OK and soft-reset your device - done!

3.If the file ends in .cab:
# connect your device to the PC via USB cable to Active Sync;
# From ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center click to explore / browse contents of your device;
# Copy .cab file from PC loacation and paste into Phone’s storage card or My Documents on Device;
# Disconnect Phone from PC;
# Through your phone’s File Explorer, locate the new .cab file;
# Tap on it;
# Choose installation location (device/storage card) and tap “install”;
# Click OK and soft-reset your device - done!

the problem am having with mine is when i click on the exe/setup of any cab file it takes me to opera like connectin to the internet but it say the name of can on search and the page opens and stays blank,is there anything i can set up so that does not happen and let me install programs/cab applications.

A cab file contains no setup exe, only one setup xml file.
How raidsteel wrote in point 3, you must leave the cab file as it is and copy to your Device.On your device then tap the cab file.
That is all and installed the program itself.
