Default Help Me find a perfect Dock Aux Cable for the Desire?

Hey Xda,

For a HTC Desire and a speaker dock, I am really struggling to find a short 20-30cm cable which doesn't have straight plugs at either end.

I have searched and cannot find a short cable with the 'L' plug at both ends...

I think it would be great for everyone who has an iPod dock or any dock with an Aux in to find a perfect 3.5mm cable that is portable and easy to use without port stress.

The long plugs are unsightly and also put pressure on the sockets in the desire and dock, with the cable I have now.

I am not a dab hand at wiring... I don't have a soldering iron.
And on that note I also would like it to hold together multiple unplug-plugs as it is a portable social dock kinda thing, lol.

I can only have the L plug at One end with everything I can find... here is a diagram of what I wish it could be like!

(I have plugged the single L I have in both)

It is really annoying, I just can't find any that are <30cm in the UK!

Even Hong Kong eBay doesn't have short ones!
The shortest I can find is Three Ft Long!

Anybody have any clues on this trail?

Thanks

Create 1 ur self?

Get 2 plugs and the appropriate wires and solder the things together.

If you cant find the appropriate wires just get cheap ass earplugs for a euro/pound/dollar orso cut off the ear plugs and attach a new mp3 3.5mm jack at the end and ur done. This means you only need 1 plug and 1 set of earplugs.

I replace connectors of my earplugs all the time if they fail and they do fail allot XD.

Hey,

Thanks for replying, but in the post it says I don't have a soldering iron or anything, not everyone does lol.

I would rather just spend £2 on a solid cable instead of buying earphones and making something really weak

I wouldn't want to "replace connectors of my earplugs all the time if they fail and they do fail allot" haha

If anyone thinks of a link on a decent cable, please post your ideas in here.

Thanks

soz mate over read it

and about the failing i mean the failing of my earplug mp3 3.5mm jack cauz it gets alot of stress at the point the cable enters the plastic housing of the jack(This happens the first time with the original jack and then i keep soldering new ones on so i can still use the earplugs). This is the cauz of lots of movement inside my pocket when im cycling. You cant realy avoid this stress if u wear your phone inside your pockets of your pants ;).

Default Re: Help Me find a perfect Dock Aux Cable for the Desire?

That is exactly what I am looking for, lol, but...

It literally in my case needs to be a minimum of about 20.5cm to reach from phone to dock if It's sitting on the dock Haha.

That is an amazing keeper link though, thank you!

15cm is just a little too short haha, fussy days.

Cheers
