Default Trouble sending messages (Vodafone?)

Hi all,

So I type an SMS, hit send and it will just sit in my outbox for two or three days. The only way of getting it out (and this only sometimes works) is by typing and sending a load of other messages. They back up and back up in my outbox and then all send at the same time. This is no good when I need to send a message instantly. When I'm spending £30+ a month on this damn contract I expect my messages to fly out without a second thought.

Can anyone help me with this??!!! PLEASE!!

Thanks. Richard.

Default Trouble sending messages

Hi,

I had this same problem too. After messing around with settings regarding sms, it starts working correctly. Unfortunately, couple days after, the same problem occurred again.

This was a problem with the early ROMs, when the HD2 first came out.

If your ROM is < 1.66 then I'm not suprised this is happening - it happened to a LOT of people!

To be honest, the best thing you could do is to get a ROM that is v2+. It'll obviously void your warranty, unless you put the phone back in the exact state it's currently in before you send it back for any future repairs, so don't be flippant about it, but a ROM upgrade is probably the best step you could take.

Vodafone UK have thier 1.72 ROM * HERE * - which is a Vodafone modded 1.66 WWE ROM. Redeyedrichard could download and install that and it wouldn't affect his warranty.

I had the same problem. I discovered that if I had no signal and sent a message the hd2 would try to send it for 15 mins then give up. When I sent another mail it would try again. I bought the sure signal and bingo! Problem solved - coverage in the house!

If you're with Vodafone, upgrade to the 1.72 ROM. That should fix it.

This shouldn't void your warranty either.

Tried installing the rom but it said that it was the wrong RUU for the device. Which is a load of rubbish. Tried installing it from the Vodafone website, then went across to the HTC website to try to install from there. When entering the serial number on HTC site it said that it was the wrong device. HELLO!!!!! HTC HD2!!! I'm sure there's only one htc hd2 knocking around.

Someone help coz this is annoying the hell outa me!

there are two types of rom/phone.
rom locked and rom unlocked.
the networks seem to be shipping both types.
when you try download a voda rom, if your serial fails then you have a rom unlocked phone and the branded roms won't work. on that case use a generic "wwe htc" rom
go for the wwe htc 1.66 rom.

Now that makes tons of sense, more sense than freakin' Vodafone customer services. They are about as useful as a helicopter ejector seat!

Thanks mate...try that tomorrow sometime.
