ESN Change 4 submerged fone HTC Hero

I am no stranger to Sprint. Had a phone and honest to god, walkin the dog in the park on a "dry" Arizona day and sweat fried the phone. Sprint doesn't care what the moisture was so VOID insurance and warranty. Purchased an ebay phone with bad ESN and flashed to my fried ESN. Happy! Now fast forward to HTC Hero. Need to do same, yes the toilet thing. How do I flash a HTC Hero ebay phone w/ bad ESN?

Yes, just an FYI this is technically a Fellony.

But CDMA workshop and I lost my copy of a previous posting with directions that was removed. Sorry.

EDIT:
Oh yeah - Insurance should payout even on a phone that has been water damaged. TEP covers everything.

And since you know that they won't cover water damage, why not just claim lost or stolen ? Could have saved money instead of buying on e-bay also.
