Default MicroSD Card?

So far I have have seen mixed reports that the Incredible supports 16, 24, 32GB Micro SD. So, what is the max size?

Also, what speeds can it support? Class 6, higher?
Phone: I can never just pick one..

Default Re: MicroSD Card?

I currently have a 16gb class 6 card and haven't had any troubles. I would imagine no troubles with a 32gb card as well.

This is a question for those who have used both Class 2 and Class 6 card and have TONS of music, do you guys notice a difference in load times when switching between Artist/Albums/Genres? I know class rating designates write speeds, but i am just curious if there is a noticeable difference in read speeds.

I don't know about music (since I use an iPod Touch for that), however the OEM looking packaged (no class information or other details on it) 2GB SanDisk MicroSD card I was given by Verizon when I bought/activated my Incredible provides a solid 6MB/sec write and 8MB/sec read speed (I'm pretty sure it's a Class 2 device, SanDisk just happens to make quality cards).

I think current CPU use + programs/services running in the background would have more to do with any lag in the situation you describe than anything else.

With regards to Class 6 vs. Class 2, the ones that have the 16Gb Class 6 card, do you have any issues mounting the card from Recovery mode? I have a 8Gb Class 6 card and it does not mount in Recovery mode (formatted properly/etc). Also, can we get the make/model of the cards that are Class 6 and works in Recovery mode?

Thank you.

I have a 32gb card in my Incredible, and it works just fine. However, as mentioned above, the phone cannot format the card, so you have to format it in your computer, before you install it in your phone.

I am using 32gb class 2 from Verizon store. Benchmarks as a class 6. No issues w/ 720P or formatting. I did slow format with w7, took some time but no issues. Usable 29.71G

Edit: Only time I notice lag is USB mass storage takes maybe 30 seconds to show card. Until then it shows as an empty removable drive. With my 8g C6 it shows immediately. Same when phone is "preparing SD Card" It takes a few seconds with the 32g.
