Default DC208 and Lockscreen

So I put on the rotary lockscreen and removed the htclockscreen.apk.

All was working fine, but now I would rather go back to the stock. I dont care for the see through look.

I tried restoring the htclockscreen.apk, reboot, clear dalvic, but no luck, still have the rotary.

What am I missing?

This would indicate most likely that the restore wasn't done successfully, since the rotary only loads when/if the stock is not present / found.

A small detail, but the stock apk is case sensitive, and is HtcLockScreen.apk. This is the first to check. Second is to make sure you pushed it back to the proper location, /system/app.

BTW, there is also a wallpaper (non clear) version of the rotary available...

Yes I was pushing the correct name to /system/app.

Now I notice when I reboot, it is no longer in my /system/app. That could be my problem.....

How are you pushing (syntax)? did you remount before, in order to make sure the partition is writable?

adb remount
adb push HtcLockScreen.apk /system/app

Then:

adb shell
cd /system/app
ls -l HtcL*

and the file is there.

Reboot, and the file is gone.

Strange. Curious if you drop the apk into an update zip and try flashing, instead of pushing, just to see what happens...
