Default Is your battery cover door discoloring near the charging port??

I wonder if this means my phone is overheating.
I only recently bought this phone. and have had it no more than 2 weeks.
I know this isnt dirt because it wont wipe off, and he way i hold my phone should not be causing anything on my hands to cause this.

I have a suspicion that the phone is getting so hot that it fades or burns this into the cover.

I always figured it was only the battery that over heated but looking at the picture, its pretty much only where there is no battery under it
If I've helped you in anyway, please feel free NOT to press the thanks button - I'm not a thanks whore so it makes no different to me

I've had mine since december and it looks perfect still. I keep it under an Invesible Sheild though. I use wifi tether religiously and thats what really gets the phone hot.

Kinda hard to tell from the pic but it looks to be rubbing on something. Do you keep it in your pocket wit other stuff?

The 2 things that get my phone the hottest:
  • Having it plugged in, especially into the computer here at work(low signal).
  • Using something that causes my wifi radio to be active for a long period of time. I think wifi tether would qualify here, so I would guess that its the cause.

I have that discoloration on mine also but it is more towards the middle and I noticed it after using the Sprint black/blue covers. I have since stopped using them and it has not changed since then
