No, bt is not functional with froyo ports yet.

They were both working on their respective roms at the same time. Richard released first but why should Ahmgsk not release his too? Some people like to stick the devs they already know and i for one have used Ahmgsk's stuff before. Not heard of Richard. Plus side is Rachard has aps2sd.
