Default How do you go back to stock without root?

I want to remove root temporarily and not break 4g or anything. What is the method for doing this?

Software Engineer working on Android at Google. In my spare time, I hack on projects like [APP][2.1+] StandOut - Create Floating Apps.

This is not working. I run the .exe and then it reboots the phone to bootloader mode and the phone never enters the bootloader so eventually it errors out. I tried booting the phone into booatloader mode manually and then starting the .exe but that didn't work either. Oh well...just have to wait for a different method I suppose.

That's weird, it definitely worked for me.

I just had an idea, it could be getting stuck at the HTC screen because of the .zip files on the SDcard so I'm going to try the update one more time and if it does not work then I will remove the .zip's from the SDcard to see if removing them helps! I hope so -fingers crossed-

Edit: Nope, no difference. Ugh...wish I had never rooted in the first place.

Edit 2: I had another thought, why not try to run the .exe while the phone was showing the HTC logo, and surprise, it is now working! I really hope that it removes root, fixes the market, and gets that update!

Could you check to see if your version numbers match up to this thread?

forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=694900

It would be nice to have a way to get back to factory settings. I'm waiting to root my phone just in case it breaks something.
