Default App to drain battery

I was wondering if anyone had a good app to drain the battery. I have heard that with Lithium Ion batteries it is a good idea to charge them to 100%, drain them, charge it back up, wash, rinse, repeat a few times in order to get the battery to the maximum amount of life.

1) Is there any truth to this practice?

2) Is there an app for this process?

From what I was told on other forums is the exact opposite. It is the old batteries that had what was called a memory and would not hold as good of a charge over time. I was told lithium ion actually works good when giving little charges here and there and does not need to be drained. I don't remember if I was told that here or on howard forums.

It's really not needed with a lithium ion battery, but some people still feel good doing it. There is an app called Screen Test. Once you load that you can switch to an all white screen at max brightness. Play some streaming music in the background and that should do it

This is absolutely true. The only thing a full discharge does for you is increase the accuracy of the battery meter.

what i did, was set my hero so it wouldn't turn the screen off, connected to my WiFi to get internet, and have music streaming till it dies, I've done it twice already to my Evo battery, I've got my hero battery in my Evo for now :-p
