Default Live Internet Video Streams. Really??

not possible on Android? .asf, .asx ? .mms protocol

coming from WinMo I was able to play these streams flawlessly. In internet explorer on the phone I would just click the link and it would open in my video player (being that Media Player ot TCPMP)

when I click a live video link on my EVO all I get is a pop-up to send a text message with that link.

I also tried few media players and I would open the url from within the player but I get and error that the file cannot be played.

anyone have any input regarding this?
I refuse to think it's impossible to do this on Android. it would be a major set back for me

please tell me I'm an idiot and there is an easy fix to my problem. appreciated

If you need help, try IRC #Cyanogenmod in freenode.net
Someone may be able to help you there. I will try, if I'm on.

the problem is likely the codec used to encode the file. there is currently only one player (yxflash) that even purports to open up divx/xvid encoded files, and it sucks at it.

what you may try is the skyfire browser. it may be able to decode some of the things you want to watch server-side, then send you a viewable file on the fly.
