Default Help -- On 3rd Party Account and want EVO

Hoping that someone can give some advice...

I used to work for RadioShack and left some 5 years ago but never came off the RS Plan for Sprint. Have been able to change phones without the need to also change my plan...until now.

I tried switching to the PRE, but was told I could only do so if I changed my plan which I wasn't willing to do at that time. Now with the EVO, I am willing to change my plan.

When I tried doing it last night, was told at BB that I can't even do that anymore. If I wanted the EVO, I would have to close my existing account and open a new one - loosing my number. That doesn't make sense to me - if that's the case I will just port my number to Verizon and get the Incredible for the time being...

Any Sprint Reps that can help? PM me and I will send my number....

I'd try in a Sprint Store or calling Customer Service

I'm no sprint rep or anything, but when I have ported numbers from from previous accounts in the past, I still had the old account active then signed up for the new one. When I was activating the new account that when they ported my old number and they then cancelled the old one.

I was in the same boat as you. This is what you have to do to correct this issue:

Step 1: Call CS and tell them to put you on the lowest possible plan.
Step 2: Tell them to transfer you to the credit department.
Step 3: Have them run credit and approve you
(By the way I say run credit because when you get a RS special account credit was never ran. They need to run credit to establish a valid credit class on your account)

The process can be done if you have someone from Sprint on the phone while you're in the store.

Go to Radioshack and get the phone and when they pull you up in the system they should be able to set everything up.

I had a RS account with Nextel/Sprint for like 5 years and I didn't have to setup a new account and I still have my Nextel number too. It works and don't let them tell you no.
