Default Question about HD2 on Verizon

I am a Verizon customer that was a Alltel customer. I kept my alltel contract because it was much better than a new Verizon contract, but Verizon said I would have to buy my phones outright if I wanted to ever upgrade. My question is that on eBay some HD2's are gsm and I know cannot be used on Verizon but some are wcdma/gsm phones, can those be activated on verizon's network?

Thanks for any input. I could not find a definitive answer.

In short, WCDMA =/= CDMA. WCDMA/UMTS is the 3G evolution of GSM, and has nothing to do with CDMA. Confusing, but the gist of it is that there's no way to use an HD2 on CDMA. Might have more luck flashing a Sprint EVO to Verizon's PRL, but since CDMA's functionally dead in my country I've not looked into it at all.
