Any idea how to turn off safe search on you tube?

A friend of mine has a regular series on YouTube and I want to view it on my phone, but it's not rated G. So, apparently, the you Tube app that came bundled with my MTS won't let me see it in the search results.

When I access the "settings" the safe search option is grayed out, so it can't be changed.

Any ideas how to bypass or turn off this ridiculous safe search setting?

Same problem.
