Default Delay in unlocking screen..

When my screen goes into standby mode / I press the off button and then I want to use my phone again it takes a few seconds after pressing the home button before I can swipe to unlock or enter a unlock pattern.

Is this the case for everyone else? It's really annoying... nothing even registers on the screen for a few seconds.

the screen shows instantly, but it doesn't register the touch for me. I have taken some videos of it I'll try and upload later.

I should note that it doesn't do this all the time, at this minute, I'm using unlock pattern and it works fine, but a few hours ago, it wasn't. I wonder if any apps can be causing this??

could be, or could be cpu was idle too long, or live wallpaper. etc...

Thanks for your replies,

I've recorded a couple of videos (one a couple of days ago, one today) of the problem. Yesterday my phone was perfect! No sluggishness, no delay in unlock, battery life lasted from 4am to 6pm (double what it has been).

Now today its stuffed again. I left the battery off charge from 11pm last night (was freshly charged then) and it had run out by 8.30 this morning (all it was doing was sitting there! I wasn't even awake). And my swipe to unlock is slow, sometimes i just can't use my phone for a few minutes as it won't let me unlock it/ turn screen on.

I put my phone on charge, and it said that I was on 20% charge after a couple of minutes, but then it started going down.. didn't appear to be charging at all, maybe coz the processor was getting axed?

These are the videos.
1, with standard unlock mechanism.

2. with pin number mechanism this morning

Can anyone help me diagnose this?? It must be a rogue application or something right? Problem occurs on both samsung and other launchers. At present, I've turned my phone into flight mode, and it is now charging normally (and quickly) and the screen is responsive once again, does that give any clues??

thanks in advance for your help, this is really putting a downer on my new expensive phone purchase!!

Default Same here

I have the same trouble. Yesterday I should show my precious for a friend. It was impossible to unlock the screen. Happened before. Tried to do it for 40 minutes then I removed the battery. Is it better with the pattern-lock? Never used it.

Did read about the problem, and myself have never thought about any delay. So did look more after every time i unlock it..but still my device seems to have no delay on that front. Still just got one delay on my device and that is the DialPad, better now after tak killer do the work, but when i did get the phone it could take a litle bit to get DialPad upp...
