Just tested Froyo for a while, first impression is very good.
3g, marketplace, installing apps and calling is working. Wifi is the same as for everyone else. Also calling is working also on speaker.
After starting I get a notification that my SD card can be removed safely. SD card is unavailable for the rest of the session.

The only strange thing I haven't seen reported yet is that it keeps launching a lot of apps in the background, the news app for example.
Battery seems it bit worse in the current build but I guess that is to be expected for a first build

All in all it's very functional already. Can't wait to see this build progress and a big thank you to the devs for the time and dedication

There, got it to work. Erased all data and placed the 2.1 bundle and replaced with the new system.ext2. It works now, booted fast. but it is running a bit sluggish than before. I'll have to try a few times with this. give you a report on this soon. thanks babi!

What is holding us from installing the rootfs to the nand? is it because of the bootloader?

Ah, yea, one more question... The tmobile austria/germany version of the diam100 has the home/phonegreen buttons and the back/phonered buttons switched for some reason... is there an alternative keybinding that i could provide haret with at boot-time?

cheers
what is keeping us from installing in nand is the need for WM's hardware initializing.

and to switch the buttons: board-htcraphael-navi.inversion=1
add that to your startup.txt

Got myself a fresh copy today, and so far it looks great already!
Very responsive on my Diamond, didn't see any "Force close" messages at boot, or while in use.

3G works, but $&!@*(&^$ T-Mobile Netherlands is blocking gmail! so I couldn't use gmail, market or any other google app.
WIFI works, if you do a manual IP configuration. So gmail works for now :+
Quadrant can't finish the benchmark, it fails in the last stage. (3D?)
Linpack gives me 1.947 MFLOPS

Keep up the good work!

After a bit of use I am having issues with the keyboard, it is being overly sensitive and the calibration seems to be off, even using the stylus to write a text takes a while. I really like that they did the light theme for the messenger too though. The sound works and using Astro explorer i was able to find and play system sounds but since android checks the SD card for ringtones and other notification noises they cannot be played. I'm switching back to 2.1 for now but I can't wait for progress on this awesome job again

Test results (Verizon Branded XV6850 - RAPH 500)

Boots and runs, CDMA data is flaky but does come up after manually adding APN
GPS seems to interfere with data
GPS (as stated) does not really work at the moment
Phone is dramatically improved on this build for CDMA devices; phone rings within one or two rings (better than under windows even!) when called.
no luck with wi-fi at the moment, but may play with it later tonight when I am at home again.
Battery life is fairly abyssmal: went from 100% to 80% in 45 minutes, with two phone calls and 3 data attempts, but then this battery is going anyway so don't take it as gospel.

Very promising build all in all, and the crippling amount of RAM in the 500 doesn't seem to be hurting this build nearly as much as usual.

On the battery: sitting in winmo, while I typed this, I just watched my phone drop 2%. So likely my poor battery performance has very little to do with Android and very much to do with my battery. (other than perhaps the aggressive battery usage of android may have worn out my battery a couple months earlier than it would have otherwise). ~shrug~ Guess it's time to buy a new one.

For us semi-newbies.
I am used to just downloading and copying over the all in one package.
What do I do with these files to try Froyo on my TP?
