Try installing the Superuser permissions apk - you might find it on the nexus one forums.

If you have Java issues on a 64Bit machine, reinstall 32Bit and choose "change install folder" and instead of Program Files (x86)" choose "Program Files"

I have tried that and go nowhere im downloading the 64bit win 7 version from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/widget/jdk6.jsp

fingers crossed this might make it work.

Hey There,

Ran the steps 2x, once with step 3 and once skipping it.
I am using an X10a on Rogers in Canada, previously had rebranded to WWE_R2BA020.

Anyways, after both attempts I am seeing no difference. Timescape etc is still on there and I cannot remove it. The widgets from the R2BA020 are also still there and cannot be removed. Finally, none of my data was wiped at any stage (not sure if that is supposed to happen?)

However, the phone info does say it is now SO-01B and R1EA025

I didn't notice any errors throughout the process.

Any ideas of what could have gone wrong?

Thanks

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot, there were some errors during step 4. The two errors I got were Application already installed and Failure to rm (I assume remove) a bunch of different things saying that the "directory does not exist"

And a last one: if I skip step 3, will I get to keep SE stuff?
I don't believe you can, I read somewhere in this thread not to long ago (Can't remember where) It said it deletes Timescape/mediascape and by the way, WOOT WOOT! Good job on the root, got the phone 2 days ago, the first day a root was successful, and have been waiting for instructions ever since, now i'm just waiting for the X10a root

The guide says this will uninstall SE and Docono stuff, so does that mean it will get rid of timescape and mediascape?

What if you don't want that?

Also, should I install R2 firmware first, or just skip right ahead to root.; where there be a difference?

-Thanks
