Default Flashed to XXJF7, but now have questions/comments...

Last night I flashed from the F3 Asian ROM my Galaxy S came with, to XXJF7 from http://www.samsung-firmware.webs.com/.

Now, here are some questions:

1. Firmware:
Now About This Phone shows XXJF5 - why not XXJF7?

2. GPS:
Today I drove for about 45 minutes in Los Angeles with the navigation on, but it kept saying Searching for GPS. It sort of knew where I was, but it was from triangulation and Wi-Fi spots, I believe. Does anyone else experience GPS issues after upgrading to F7?

3. MarketPlace:
Yesterday one of the first apps I bought was Wunderradio (I loved it on my iPhone). After I flashed, I went to redownload it from Marketplace, but it has disappeared. I can search for it and find it in DoubleTweast, but when I scan the barcode, the phone says it can't find it on Marketplace. Also, I've been trying to search for Google Voice Search, and it does not show in MarketPlace either. Is this because of the upgrade to F7?

4. T-Mobile vs. AT&T:
On another note, I decided to try T-Mobile and compare it AT&T, so I signed up for no-contract, one month unlimited data, etc.. Plugged in the SIM, and now I get 18 kbps down and 82kbps up. It's been pretty consistent. With AT&T I get 300-500kbps down and close to a meg down. Geez....

So, anyone with any thoughts on why GPS doesn't work with F7?

Kind of biggie. I am about to flash this again....

Also, why would things not appear in MarketPlace on the phone? I also thought Navigon is out, but it doesn't show either.

I reflashed with F5 and now GPS works. It also finds Wunderradio in Marketplace

I thought T-Mobile uses Euro frequencies in the US (while AT&T uses different ones). It might be LA - I had heard bad things about T-Mobile before here. Verizon rules here, but I hate them as a company (from back when they had landline monopoly in my area), so I'd never go to them.

they do... 2G/GSM (1900).. but 3G is a mess:

T-Mobile USA is 1700/2100 (Band IV aka AWS)
Euro is 2100 (Band I aka IMT)
AT&T is 1900 (Band II aka PCS) & 850 (Band V aka CLR)

here's all the UMTS (3G) bands: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands

When you flashed the F5, did your phone come up in Russian? If yes, how did you deal with that?

I can read Cyrillic, so it wasn't an issue for me. But i believe once you restart with the SIM card inserted, it should switch to your default language.
