Question Add Multiple Galaxy S Forums? Or Keep Them Under One Roof?

Hey All,

Need your help with something. Not only is there the Euro version of the Galaxy S, but soon there will be the Sprint Epic, T-Mobile Vibrant, AT&T Captivate, and Verizon Fascinate. All of these are Galaxy S phones, but the development will vary a bit from device to device.

How should we handle this at XDA? Should we have multiple (separate) forums for all five devices? Or should we just have sub-forums under this Galaxy S main forum? Please vote!

More specifically:

Option 1........

Samsung Galaxy S

- Galaxy S General
- Galaxy S Acessories
- Galaxy S Android Development
- Sprint Epic Android Development
- T-Mobile Vibrant Android Development
- AT&T Captivate Android Development
- Verizon Fascinate Android Development
- Galaxy S Themes and Apps

Option 2........

Samsung Galaxy S

- Galaxy S General
- Galaxy S Acessories
- Galaxy S Android Development
- Galaxy S Themes and Apps

Sprint Epic

- Epic General
- Epic Acessories
- Epic Android Development
- Epic Themes and Apps

AT&T Captivate

- Captivate General
- Captivate Acessories
- Captivate Android Development
- Captivate Themes and Apps

Verizon Fascinate

- Fascinate General
- Fascinate Acessories
- Fascinate Android Development
- Fascinate Themes and Apps

T-Mobile Vibrant

- Vibrant General
- Vibrant Acessories
- Vibrant Android Development
- Vibrant Themes and Apps

has to be option 2.

Otherwise the place will become 'flooded' and 'cluttered' and the same questions being answered many times.

Also it will be difficult to help people in different regions and who have different firmware etc

Definitely Option 2.

I don't think there's a need to even split the development forums.
As i see it, "Galaxy S" is a platform. The hardware for all the devices is 99% similar, with the exception of keyboards.
I'm thinking more like-

- Galaxy S General
- Galaxy S Acessories
- Galaxy S Android Development
- Galaxy S Keyboard devices Android Development
- Galaxy S Themes and Apps

If it turns out that the devices will actually be pretty different, i support option 1.
Let's keep it as a big happy family, no need for splits.

They are very similar, but the AT&T and T-Mobile versions are GSM, whereas the Sprint and VZW versions are CDMA, two totally different technologies.

I'm going to have to go with option 2. Not only will it become cluttered, but do we know yet just how similar the devices are? Like someone already mentioned, there will be GSM & CDMA models. But on top of that, the software might still be just different enough...

Am i missing something? Option 2 is the most cluttered one with 5 different forums for the same thing. The development forums need to be separate, but why have 5 different general, accessories, and themes/apps forums? The phones aren't that much different.

Then splitting GSM and CDMA should be more than enough.
