Default It's official: The KIN devices are discontinued.

Microsoft has released an official report saying the KIN devices have been discontinued. This is really sad... the device came out only a month ago, and now it's already done. Microsoft should've given it more time.

The report can be read on gizmodo here:

Too bad. The hardware would have had some nice potential if it caught on. Lets hope that MS doesn't do such a half *ss attempt with WinMo 7. I kind of have the feeling that WinMo 7 is going to die the same death as the Kin.

After reading the second link (what killed the kin) it really put it into perspective. the KIN was doomed before it was even released, and the only chance of saving it would've been if it sold above expectations. I hope they don't put the acquiring of danger to waste though.

A girl I was talking to in the mobile department at bestbuy said they had only sold 1 or 2 since it launched. I think it looked like a rip-off of the Palm Pre.

I think MS failed to properly evolve the Danger devices and just wanted to reap some money from them and let them fade out.

The KIN was a upper management mess. Does this get an award for being the shortest lived device on xda?
