It's possible that the sweet spot could end up being in the mid 40's for that balance between framerate and tearing.

If you're getting flicker and you're uncomfortable with it, jump to another revision, 3.0 and 3.1 are very much in-progress testing builds.

hope i'm not cluttering the thread , but i just flashed the latest kernal with the approximate 50fps on my epson v003 using bugless beast v.03 and it works absolutely smooth so far with no tearing. Very much appreciated and great work OP. You and others here are the reason i never thought of returning my phone and looking forward to more magic. Thanks again.

P.S. There is a little bit of tearing when scrolling through the apps and in certain menu screens but overall a big improvement over the last kernal.

If you are using 3.1, try 3.0 - IT'S SO FLUFFY!

New build up, revision 3.2

Tearing should *hopefully* be nonexistant or extremely minimized. Flicker issue should be gone as well.

Just flashed 3.0 for the first time, then as I am reading you update to 3.2! 3.0 is looking pretty good already on Fresh .5.3.

At this point it seems like a noob question, but how to I actually see what framerate I am getting? The performance increase is obvious with general use, but I would like to contribute some data to the thread.

Fps2d is pretty commonly used, as is Gears.

I'd estimate you should expect about 49-51fps in the current build.

Went from awesome performance and mid-40's FPS (using 3.0) to high 20's when I flashed 3.2.

Edit: Cycled my screen several times and looks like it kicked in... 50 fps! Awesome work.

Ahh yes, I haven't gotten around to putting in code to set it automatically on boot, hence the screen cycle is still currently needed ;D
