Default "your phone is currently in an unknown state - try to reboot"

After root and tether app install I get this error and tethering will not start anyone seen this before??

"your phone is currently in an unknown state - try to reboot"

I am using wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre2.apk
from http://code.google.com/p/android-wif...downloads/list

I assume you used the 3 click method?

I had the same issue... if you read the fine print on that method it tells you to immediately flash a fully rooted Rom as the pc361 img file has issues with permissions....

The easy fix for me was to visit unrevoked.com to obtain temporary root to allow you to flash a fully rooted rom then
download ROM Manager from the marketplace... I personally ended up with Damage's Rom but tried Fresh as well and was pleased... went with damage for the more stock aspect....

I am getting the same thing, i tried the other app you suggested and still the same results

i did the same thing you did and got this error until i flashed the signed superuser whitelist app, then it worked perfectly

it's called:
su-2.1-e-unsecure-signed.zip

and u can get it here:

flash it from recovery

I did the unrevoked deal and it worked for wifi tether.
