Angry [Update - Europe] [13/07/10] Sera's JIT-Galaxy V1 [2.1-u1 ~ XWJG1] JIT, Optimized!

I just created a version of the MCR R2 Custom Rom with the Samdroid "Frozen Eclair" JIT files.

Basically all the credit for the ROM goes to Paul O' Brien.
Buy this man a beer or two!

The Rom contains:
  • MCR Custom Rom R2
  • Fancy Widget
  • Titanium Backup
  • ASE with MoDaCo Scripts
  • build.prop from JF5 (MCR R1) to see paid apps
  • Removed most of the Samsung Apps (except Memo, Swype, Live Wallpapers)
  • JIT files

To flash you need to be sure, that you're on JG1.
If you're not yet on JG1 - flash it with Odin.
You can get the JG1 files here: http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/

Afterwards you can flash my archive with the recovery.
Just push it to /sdcard/ and rename it to update.zip

There is no guarantee - applying this to your phone is your own risk.

It runs very stable on my phone - I could reach 12.700 MFLOPs on my Galaxy S.
Sadly Quadrant crashes when benchmarking the CPU.

May I upload this to my mirror? And could you possibly try to reformat your thread title like this?

Edit: Can this be flashed over an already installed version of R2? Or do we need a clean JG1 flash?

I did a clean install because I had to try some things - feel free to test it with an existing R2!

I'm currently uploading a version that's called Sera's Jit-Galaxy in the build.prop Perhaps you want to wait, till that's online.
I tried to flash my new version over the old and there are no problems yet.

"Sera's Jit-Galaxy in the build.prop" lese ich das so richtig?

Hab die erste version schonmal hier hochgeladen. (Uploaded the first version of the ROM here)

Edit: Maybe you should number the versions of your ROM if you have two already ;)

Thanks for sharing seraphimserapis If this works then it is a great step forward, my linpack bench is 8.4MFLOPs, so thats almost a 50% increase by enabling JIT!
Do you know what would need to be changed to get this working on JG3? I've tested both and have found JG3 to be a far superior firmware, so I'd like to avoid going back to JG1 if possible.
